Business Incubator Novi Sad is a place where ideas become successful ventures. Business Incubator was established with the aim of helping new and emerging companies place their products and services on the market and find the business models which would generate profit for them. 

The Incubator is open to anyone with innovative ideas in the field of IT or creative industries. The institution is focused on providing support for projects based on knowledge, innovation and new technologies, whose potential market allows for high scalability.  

The Business Incubator offers 800m2 off office space for start-ups. In addition, the Incubator has an open area 100 m2 which doubles as a “co-working” centre during the day and as an excellent venue for workshops, trainings and meet-ups in the evening, thus facilitating the meetings between members of different expert groups and the industry communities. 

Since the establishment in 2010, Business incubator Novi Sad was included in different studies conducted on University of Novi Sad, especially in the Faculty of Technical Sciences. The incubator was mainly included in researches related to entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial capacities, innovation management, business processes in SME, and similar. Collaboration between the Incubator and researchers is quite strong, and it will be further developed in future.

As already mentioned above, Business incubator Novi Sad was included in different studies conducted in University of Novi Sad. Role of the incubator was to provide connection between University start-up companies, SMEs, and entrepreneurs.

Having that in mind, we could say that the field of excellence of the Business incubator Novi Sad is entrepreneurship, start-up development, start-up training development, innovation management consulting, SMEs development consulting, and start-up event organizing.

The University of Novi Sad, is the second largest university in Serbia with around 5000 employees and 50 000 students. It is the only state university in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, comprising 14 faculties and 3 research institutes. There are 300 study programmes at all three academic cycles. UNS is active in the international collaboration field participating in both educational and research projects. The University has been awarded with a prestigious acknowledgement – the Logo of Excellence in the field of improving the work conditions of researchers and it is a new headquarters of the Secretariat of the Consortium of Higher Education Institutions in the framework of the cooperation of the Republic of China and 16 countries of Central and East Europe. UNS has been awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (2014-2020 – ECHE).

Being the main research and higher education institution of area, the University of Novi Sad (UNS) is one of the very rare campus-oriented universities in the SEE region. With its inherent diversity and long-lasting tradition in entrepreneurship, the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina has been always in the forefront of the economic development in the region, with the strong ambition to keep this place in future, by supporting new developments and emerging areas in research and technology. UNS is a vibrant research, innovation and educational institution, the top leader, both in the country and the region, nurturing entrepreneurial culture and intensifying international cooperation and worldwide recognition.

Research activities of the UNS are primarily oriented towards the research projects which are directly or indirectly aimed at practical industry application, supporting innovation and technology development. So far, there were around 300 projects supported by Serbian and Provincial Ministry of Science and Technology and more than 200 international projects realized within different frameworks: H2020, FP7, FP6, EUREKA, COST, IPA, TEMPUS, ERASMUS+ and CEEPUS. The first phase of the Science and Technology Park (STP) is already finished through construction of laboratory block of 2150 m2. The second phase of STP is under construction on around 9000 m2 and it will be completed during Q3 of 2019.
